Pool Fire Simulation with a Cylindrical Calorimeter is used to benchmark C3D heat transfer models in engulfing fires. Tests performed at Sandia National Laboratories.

This video is a simulation of a complex object (jet aircraft) subjected to an engulfing pool fire. The video includes radiative heat transfer to the fuselage and predicts melting of the skin. A YouTube tutorial of this simulation can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lzV-0eXtTQ

This video shows the flame shape and height of the Phoenix LNG 80m dia pool fire conducted at Sandia National Laboratories.. The simulation was performed to calibrate the soot model, chemical reactions, and radiation heat fluxes from a large LNG pool fire.

This video shows a simulation compared to a photograph of a multipoint ground flare burning propane. The simulation was performed to validate the flame shape and height of the C3D combustion model

This video shows the expected streamlines in a burner with swirl

This video demonstrates the effect of crosswind direction on the row ignition in a multi point ground flare. There are 3 segments in the video, 1st segment has a 20 mph wind in the negative Y direction, the 2nd segment the wind is in plus Y direction and last segment has no wind.

This video shows the ignition sequence of the flares in a Totally Enclosed Ground Flare. The video illustrates the combination of a pipeflow network coupled to the 3-d domain. The pipe colors show the flow of fuel into the initially Inert pipelines.

This video show a simulation of a 3-flare test wherein cross ignition, radiation and flame size shape and height were measured. The predicted flame shape is overlaid on a photograph of the test.

This video shows the predicted performance of a burner in a furnace. Analysis was made to evaluate the effects of hydrogen addition to the fuel gas
